These 925 earrings appear to be missing a stone above the main stone and the holes believe it or not seem to be full of something that looks like earth!Heaven knows where they have been to get that dirty but I’d like to replace the missing stones. What do you think they are?
925 mark is very worn - do you think they are recent or have some age or indeterminate?
    Thankyou :)

Fairly recent, probably Indonesian. Main stone looks moonstone. These usually had a couple of little amethysts.

Thankyou. That would make it easier if I don’t have to match the bottom stones!

Gorgeous moonstones, KSW. If you want to replace the stones, you are looking for a navette shape, and I'm with obb, probably amethyst. You can order them online, but it could be tricky to find the exact size.

Thankyou for the word 'navette'. That just saved me ages searching for the right thing.
Which do you think the amethyst or either blue would look best?

Amethyst, definitely. I've seen this combo "in the wild" and it makes the monstone pop.

I agree, amethyst would be more in keeping with the original.
But I love the last one. And it is only small, so it won't be too dominant.

The large stones are labradorite, often called "rainbow moonstone". They're often used with amethyst. You can also go with blue topaz, peridot, etc.
