Featured Vintage pincushion -- home-made or commercial? Era?

    All the ones I found that were "somewhat similar" said either "Russian" or "Soviet Era Russia", but there were no other details given.

    Here are a few I saw that are at least a bit like yours, Pat:

    I saw one that someone referred to as a "stockinette" doll, but the detail wasn't at all like the earlier stockinette dolls I've seen before.

    Thanks, SBSVC. The bottom ones look closest to mine, with the long floppy arms and the one on the right even looking up like mine does.

    I love these cute folksy things!
    How heavy is your doll?
    My first thought about her use was as a doorstop, not a pincushion. :)

    Thanks... she is cute, isn't she?

    She hardly weighs anything. Her stuffing seems to be batting, without anything like sand or metal to weigh her down.
