So I bought a watchmakers lathe off of ebay recently, in good condition functionally, but the nickle plating is not in such great shape. Ive been able to fix some areas that were just stained or dirty, but the main body has all these crinkley veins on it, and I cant find any method for fixing this. Any advice?

The plating is silver, just under yellow light

The whole thing, not in terrible condition, but needs some work

could be a part that was formed by hot swaging.

might sound gruesome but is a technique for precision items. :)
