Still fussing. St. Cyril seems almost always to be shown with a beard that is longer and/or wilder than either of these guys. Some versions of St. Nicholas are a better match:

But was your guy so careless as to lose his halo?!

Having difficulty finding certainty, but think headwear of the haloed figure is only worn by patriarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church. There was a large disruption in the succession starting with Peter the Great through the Soviet era, so not as many of these as there have been Bishops of Rome.

Hate to ask for another photo, but can we get a full shot of the emblem on the klobuk of this one? Looks like keys of Peter crossed over a simple cross with sort of a swag below? Have not been able to find this rather simple & obvious symbol anywhere. Should ID figure.

The thing he wears on his head. Except they don't seem to have - at least not in English translation - a specific term for this type with the rounded crown. It is used by default, but applies more to ones that are this shape:

I can't tell from the one photo, other than artificial/molded rather than carved.

A bit different as artificial ones go. Am I seeing 3 colors: brown; white; & green? The modeling for the mold was better than average & not common to see 2 helmeted figures. More common to have one in foreground & some featureless female behind.

And what do we call compositions like this?

    That's right, 'jugate'. :)

It's black, white, and green. The helmeted guys appeared to be a separate piece from the background. And the background really did seem like glass, but this shop is very poorly lit and I didn't have any means of magnification with me (was an impulse stop). Super lightweight stamped brass bracelet setting.

To be fair, the seller only wanted $3 for it.

I always remember "jugate" because I have been known to pay way too much attention to elections (and campaign gear)... it's the other one you mentioned the recently that I can't remember -- where the people are... facing each other? looking in opposite directions? like I said, I can't remember. :chicken:

The emblems seem to be the Passion instruments, can't see enough details now...

This guy is highly variable, but this is one version of St. Basil:

Your guy does look like he's holding a Bible with a picture.

You were quite right, Calvary symbol. Basil is the best match & one of the big names.

The "cloak" with the crosses and stripes seems to be a "thing", but I haven't sorted the meaning (e.g., if only certain folks have them)...

This is Saint Mitrofan of Voronezh -- I'm not saying it's him (because others have a similar "cloak"), I'm just wondering how much of a clue that cloak is...

A possible answer: "In the Russian tradition, the episcopal mantiya is characteristically decorated with red and white horizontal ribbons, called "rivers" or "streams" (Greek: ποταμοί, potamoí; Slavonic: Istochniki), symbolizing the word of God going out into the entire world (Ezekiel 47:1-12, John 7:38, Revelation 22:1). In the Greek tradition, these rivers are normally gold."

EDIT: the above is from https://orthodoxwiki.org/Mantiya

Until that blasted Jivvy got on the case.

Both Basil of Ryazan & Mitrofan of Voronezh were bishops of their respective locations, so both entitled to be shown wearing a bishop's cope. But looks like, from his iconography, part of Basil's story must be his humility or simple life, or maybe only because Basil lived 400 years earlier than Mitrofan, but he is not shown in the flashier vestments of later times. Mitrofan looks more like the plaque in that way, & also has the Calvary symbol to ID him, but can't find an image of M holding a Bible or picture of the Madonna & Child (unlike Mitrofan of Beijing); he is always holding his staff.

I have already posted this one to Pinterest; will emend to include the possibility of Mitrofan. :)

How old do we think the cameos are? Because there's another guy I like, but I suspect he's too recent.
