I'm pret-ty sure Jongkind didn't use a sharpie, duh :)! The canal/boat/water theme works for him. Biography

Also, would you buy this in the condition it's in! It's a great image, but faded to greenish tones. Found with no glass. $25.00

I *think* it's a contemporary print of a print, but I didn't inspect it that closely.

But maybe a fountain or dip pen?

Afraid it does not look at all like the work of that Jongkind.

A striking image, but not in that condition at that price.

Same subject and possibly period, @Bronwen - but I see no images listed with his name, why I asked.

Right @Ghopper1924 - I put it down quickly when I saw that price. But it was such a nice image, I thought I should run it by you "guys"

From the Seine picture, looks like JBJ signed last name as 2 words: Jong Kind.

I figured just a label, not a signature.

It looks to me like the original was a photograph?

Agree - @scoutshouse -your artwork is a photograph isn't it?

Yes, probably a print of a print? I'm guessing.

Even with that fading and oxidation it is glossy, like a contemporary photograph.

Being signed as it is, I suspect it is an "original" photographic print done by the artist. I could be wrong.

If it's glossy, I agree that you may have an original photograph.

I like the composition... it draws me in and seems like part of a story.
