Just and inch and a quarter long, half inch wide. Picked up in the U.K. at a sale some time ago and I wondered if anyone knew anything about what I am assuming is the makers mark. More so in the first photo than in the second, close up shot, it looks like a 6 pointed/Jewish star to me.

Thanks for looking. I thought I could see an W P and maybe an A.

Thanks. I can’t see any part of the arrow in the mark. It’s an odd little piece. I don’t find too much here that just says sterling.

I’ve shown it both sides, could be a star with a C that way up.
    It’s a pity it’s rubbed.

Yes, the box probably is original. Birks is a high-end Canadian retailer, and would sell items they didn't make (often they would stamp their name on the items too).
I just don't know why the ' Rims and Backs' mark is on pieces with different company marks, hopefully someone will know:)

?? I see the same maker's mark, the monogram with about 4 letters crammed in.

Can't help much, all the pieces INH found have the same mark (maybe an 'R' on a 'W' over 'E'?), and the two fitted cases look like they're probably original. Given that the retailers were in England and Canada (quick search found T. Houghton mentioned at that address in London in the '20s, around the time these pieces were likely produced), would guess a British maker, the silver lightweight enough that hallmarking wouldn't have been required. Beyond that - I got nuthin'...
