Since they don't move I believe that the beads in this photo are the kind that are molded to the thread, maybe resin or similar. (If correct, value would be minimal.) I'm getting confused since a number of necklaces have been posted, but did you say these are glass?

Could be. Could also be Chinese made to look like bone, the Chinese produce a lot of 'faux bone' Buddhist themed jewellery. Sold as Tibetan Nepali, Indian. With that staining it is difficult to know what is what.
The Max Neiger looking beads look very Max Neiger.;) Others used the beads too, Czech designers assembled beads made by bead manufacturers.

Sorry Lucille, I didn't mean to confuse, I was trying not to spam the forum with lots of separate threads.
The ones that are white with brown stripes don't move on the thread. They tap like China when you clink them together on your teeth but I was reading earlier that resin can resemble China?. They are firmly glued to the thread so that would lead me to think they are probably resin.

If they are molded to the string, I believe that these are newer made in China resin or some kind of plastic, and not glass. If they were glass they would have been something more interesting and might have pointed to older. They have a nice look in either case.

These don't have any recess. They are completely smooth.
