Featured Italy Bakelite Horse Head Brooch Pin

    Hi All,
    I picked this up this morning at a show. The head tests positive for bakelite. I can find lots of these but not finding any hanging ones with the leather and stirrup like mine. Trying to figure out the age, does the screw in the bottom help date this?
    Any information appreciated

    Great piece, so unusual. You see Bakelite horse head pins, but I've never seen this configuration with a Bakelite piece. Have to guess 1940s or 1950s. Interesting that it is from Italy. Prices are down for Bakelite (compared to it's heyday) but certain pieces still do well.

    Nice find.
