I was actually going to say to Komo that I had no way to know that it isn't 2 pieces, started to type it, examined the dangle again & still don't really, but if 2 separate pieces, 2 extremely well matched pieces. I love it anyway but will never, ever soak it. Fortunately it is not in need of it.:kiss:

Think I only have one piece that still has the original detachable bail with it. That one has black enamel & a pearl that goes with the frame of the mount. I'd be happy to find a plain gold one of the right proportions.

I once bought an inexpensive Italian gold pendant/charm of the letter K, which is not any initial of mine, just because it came with the kind of finding on 'enhancers' & I have pendants with only a single loop that does not face the right direction. It is nicer than a jump ring.

I got this pearl in a misc. lot last year. It's flat on the back and the metal is gold:

I'm thinking of hanging off this Victorian 14k watch pin/pendant:

    Everything's better with pearls, IMO.

I had a jools day yesterday. Seller had several boxes of costume, and we settled on the equivalent of $25 for the lot. Sight unseen, pretty well. It was all neatly bagged and included Trifari and Kigu clip earrings, and that weird brooch I've posted over on Jewellery. Plus a nice Brazilian bracelet with amethyst lumps, also being kept and a couple of 1950s diamante necklaces. Mine! Y16A.jpg Y16B.jpg

These were also present. Butterscotch amber clips, Russian. The geek tweaked them, and they will be worn. (Can someone remind me what backwards R K 4 means as a mark?)

Finding a suggestion, unconfirmed, that the mark indicates the collective where made.

It's definitely nacre, not some artificial pearl simulant. The question is whether it is an actual single detached pearl, or been made to look like one by cobbling together 2 blister pearls:

That could make sense. I googled around a bit, and I'm sure I knew the answer, once!

    The word 'collective' is коллектив.
The backwards R is a Y sound, as in yacht. I don't have the knowledge to know what word would have gone with collective.

Oooh Davey, you do say the sweetest things! Or at least show the sweetest junk! The collection box will sell handily.

Some bell in the back of my brain says it's a gold plate mark.

@evelyb30 - cheers. Gold plate would make sense, and it's well done. Part of the same mega pile as that weird Limoges brooch!

And the kids didn't even look. Brainless twits. Either that or grief-stricken and will look back someday asking each other what happened to one thing or another.

    Sheesh.

    Partly grief and partly disgust.

The daughter told me that people with alzheimer's or the mentally ill, or lazy slobs, live like that.

Her mother was intelligent, wealthy, a local councillor, a treasurer for several societies and charities, she was very active and smartly dressed, had a new car and the latest gadgets.
But she would not allow anyone in her house for the last 10 years.
They are paying me handsomely and have thanked me for taking on this task:rolleyes:

They get to share the proceeds of the house sale, the car and whatever she had in the bank.

    I'm not arguing with them:D

I hope you find keys to a safety deposit box.......
& a lock box in the house.....
    & all of her jewelry....
& any monies held for those societies...
    & the designer clothes....
    & a painting or two.......
&......enough stuff to cover our trip to the Aezores !!!!!!!!!!
