In Belgium halfway between Kortrijk & Brussels there is a 40 foot tall bearded giant totally nude and anatomically correct. I have a photo someplace.

Think I may have posted Mr. PG before. He graces the town of Prince George, BC, which was/is known for the logging industry, natch.

Driving into Orlando for the first time in 1971, was assaulted by the monstrosity below - though only from the waist up, it was 30' tall, one green plaid sports-jacketed arm moving up and down in imitation of local car dealer Art Grindle's signature 'I want to sell you a car' gesture, used at the end of his frantic TV commercials. Gone for years now, believe it burned down...

Not cute or as much fun, but the Boston neighborhood where we lived years ago has a giant Citgo sign atop a building...

Pat P, that huge Citgo sign is interesting . . . but what I dearly love is the building upon which it sits. What a beautiful old building.

Do you remember if it was an office building or a residential building? ;)

Well I was just going to brag on LA's Randy's Donuts, then I ran into this.

We spent a good part of the day figuring out how to get the SS Endeavor to fly over us on its way to LAX.

Here's the crowd chasing it through Inglewood on its way to the California Science Center.

Yup! It's been there at least since the early 80s, which is when we lived in the area. I don't know when it was erected.

Gee, I don't know. I'd guess it had storefronts on the ground floor, but don't know about the other floors. Boston has many wonderful old buildings and I always loved walking around and looking at the architectural details.

    Nope, 'fraid not.

Fenway Park (home of the Red Sox) is in the same neighborhood. Although we couldn't see the Citgo sign from our apartment, we could see the top of the Fenway Park lights when a game was on. And the roars from the crowd were incredible.

I lived in Boston from 67 to 76. We still go up to the city a couple of times a month. They were going to tear down the Citgo sign, but real Bostonians wouldn't let them. It appears on mugs, t-shirts, postcards. Here's another one:

Hubby One worked in the building with the tea kettle in the mid-70's, Bev!! And when I worked in the neighborhood (mid-90's to 2005) I walked past it often!

I forgot about the teapot! I worked about a block away from it, too, at one time. Let's see, that was in 80-81. Then in 2009-2010 I had some training sessions right around there as well.

My 79 Formula came with Uniroyals, I nicked a curb & the back one blew out, so I went to BF Goodrich rubber...& then they had a scandal so I put 4 Goodyear Eagles on that puppy and never looked back !

Not to say Bluumz , that the big tire is not...a sight !....but their rubber is just not the best.

Oh....& while I'm off topic.....notice the whip antenna ....the 79 came with the antenna sandwiched in the front windshield , & it had stinko reception, so I ordered mine with no radio & got a regular windshield.....& had my music maker custom loaded !!
    The T-Roof was BOSS !!

Here's a recent find that would have done well for that car (though research indicates that the player is from '74/'75):

That's Lucy! She is further inland now and as cute as ever!
I recall her from near the boardwalk when I was little and I searched her out a few years ago when visiting.
She's in Margate. She is also the city's emblem and on the water tower. :)
