This gorgeous red vase has what I believe are devil gargoyles under the handles. It has a slightly smudged mark on the bottom which I can't read - I'm not even sure which way is up. It is about 5.5" high. Image001.jpg Image003.jpg Image004.jpg Image007.jpg Image009.jpg

Multilingual people seriously impress me.We Americans don't even master our own language .
My wife's got a talent for it-when she spoke French not even the Parisians were condescending, for me it's a magical talent.

Same with me. I lived all over the world and had to learn some of the language but never in one place long so forgot it. My parents spoke Turkish , Spanish , Indonesian. My brother is fluent in Thai, Spanish and Romania. My sister is fluent in French But like @bosko69 I am lucky to get through English!

My Pa had a language gift. He could pick up languages and simply spout them. Didn't worry about the grammar. Both parents spoke French and used it to try to have secret chats in front of me, till they realised I understood every word! I can still pick up European languages quite well.

    Bear-If you don't use a language for a while,does it come back easily ?

It does to me. I get rusty on French, for example, but give me a day or two back there and I'm good again. Or just listening to it for a few hours.

My daughter turned her computer to spanish to keep up with her Spanish. She is pretty fluent.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Me, too -- The gargoyles are the friendly type. They appear to be smiling.
