    Hello

Could anyone place this to a country and date it.
It looks like running competition medal for 100 meter.
    Weight is about 60 gram.

    Thanks

Second place. 'Michel' would be the name of the medal engraver. What are the letters on the front? I don't think I'm seeing them correctly.

Correction. The initials BM could be the medallist, although BM may have designed the artwork while Michel converted it to medal form.

There were a Gustave Michel & a Jean Marie Michel working as medalists in France in the late 19th/early 20th centuries.

    I read V MICHEL on front:cyclops:
    Belgium!
LA DERNIERE HEURE is a Belgian news paper, from Wikipedia:
    "

    History and profile
La DH was established on 19 April [1] 1906.[2] The paper has its headquarters in Brussels and has a liberal stance without any political affiliation.[2] Its publisher is IPM.[3] It has seven regional versions: Namur / Luxembourg, Liège, Tournai / Ath / Mouscron, Mons Center, Charleroi Center, Brabant, and Brussels."

How thick is it? It is either die stamped or cast, one name could be a artist and the other the name of the person who made the engraved the die.

The medallist engraved a matrix, then the medals were struck as coins are:)

Wouldn't they have needed only one of these? Unless the letters scratched on the front are Roman numerals for the year & the design was used for this award over multiple years. Otherwise, no need to produce it in a way that was efficient for creating copies.

There were several to have been struck, you can see on pic 2 that 2e and 100m were engraved afterward:cyclops:, depending on the distances run, there could be 3 pieces for 50m, 3 for 100m, 200m, 400m, and so on.
And as there is no date, they could have been used for several "criterium des novices" for years:)
Of course the quantity in total isn't as big as for coins, but medals were always made like that, even for 10.
