I went into a random antique/junkque/stuff store this weekend on my way home from that bust of a community sale. Picked up an OddFellows watch fob dated 1918 with a stick pin whatsit - probably the original holder. Threw on the little gold-filled and probably silver pencil for $6. The beads are @Any Jewelry bait - orange coral and lots of 'em. They could stand a restringing most likely, but I can do that. Those turned up in the Ill Will today for $8 plus tax. They're about 4mm, but even so there's a pile of them.

...and after losing two tonight, they bounced off the string as I was putting them on their new one, I gave up for the night. It's a 54 inch string, but ...argggh.

Beads all bounce; some bounce where you can find them, and some bounce off into the sunset never to be seen again. Some are found by the cat two days later, but not all.

I'm convinced they exist. I do love the conceit of how they used things. I still stare at little objects, like tothpaste tube tops and think Borrower flowerpot!
