Wow so envious of these treasure troves....anything worth flipping around here dealers snap up so you wouldn't even likely see items like those out unless they were ridiculously priced (of course only if your first and lucky)
Good finds other than jewelry are fairly few around here been picked to death lol zillions of dealers around here. I see you score pretty good on those "boot sales" I tend to stick to garage sales, I certainly check good sounding listed sales, but random is good

We normally wouldn't purchase these because they're out of fashion and often not worth very much unless made by a noted artist. But I thought this to be a very beautiful silhouette profile of a teenage American girl born circa 1807 and died circa 1824.

It's not neodymium, Don, the colour doesn't vary in different lights. But it is an odd variated effect.

 

No leather on mine, just wood. Also not finished as well as a Longaberger; I think it's just a Chinese clone.

 

The metal bits are a lady's shirt button. I'd call it circa 1900-1910; women's shirts had stud buttons like a man's tuxedo for a while. A lot of them were the ubiquitous hand-painted porcelain, but some were metal. I've never seen a reverse-painted glass one before, but it's no surprise they made some.

 

I went junking a little today, but my best find was a new oven mitt.(sigh) One of mine looks like someone took a cooking torch to it.

 

Well then......I was wrong......

 

The sales weren't too exciting this morning. I started out well north and then went to a later starting one to the south. There was a line of over 100 when I got there, so I just headed for home.

I meandered the back roads hoping to find something along the way. Then I noticed the vehicle for one of the local estate sale companies ahead of me. I followed it to tomorrow's sale location. They had a roll-off full. Most was in bags. I picked up a couple old high school yearbooks, a heavy duty extension cord, some brass for scrap, and a masonic gavel.

In the original box. There was a ton of photos, postcards and ephemera that the regular crowd would have paid for. The set up guys didn't have a clue as to what had value.

I've got a lot of little stuff to go through and this bugger won't leave me alone.

 

Well, Daddy (Terry), he knows you went somewhere and is just sooooo happy you're home. Luxuriate in that sweetie-pie kitty being so happy you're home.

Maybe the two of you will enjoy looking through your great finds.

 

Why is he in a shirt?

He's the one that had ringworm. He scratched it til it looked like hamburger. He could easily scratch through the shirt but he doesn't. Yesterday I took his shirt off as it was looking better. He scratch it nasty within a few minutes. Shirt back on.

The Good News: these two Chinese porcelains were only $1.50

The Bad News: the cat night-light has chips to the ears and the miniature Hu vase has a hairline crack.

 

The Good News: these large landscape chalk drawings were only $5 for all four.

The Bad News: I have no idea who 'G.T.' is.

 

Mid-Century(?) Modernist sterling brooch. Maker's/designer's mark is illegible...



(Speaking of vintage silver... That Modernist silver bracelet and silver Jensen earrings I posted a couple pages back sold quick! $125 & $120. Can't argue with those results...)
