    No, it isn't that although your socks are probably lighter :hilarious: It's more of a form over function issue for me, "a solution in search of a problem" type of deal.
    I notice you keep the keys in the drawers.................

    Interesting thread but, the bottom line in all this is, a furniture oddity that never got off the ground for obvious reasons. :cigar:

    Though nearly all genuine /non altered FRENCH dressers or secretaries of this era were made without pull knobs, only pull by the key...
    And they were THOUSANDS then (in France...);)

    Yeah, the key word there is, France! and ONLY France! And considering these pieces were made around 1900? and the population of France then was almost 80 million or 40 mil W/O colonies, not exactly what one would call a SMASH HIT in France either! :hilarious::inpain::p
