Completely stupid. I have a high boy dresser that came with my 1920 Sligh Furniture mahogany four poster spool bed (Dated by tag). I put some slightly wet socks in one of the drawers, which is sealed so I thought it would be okay. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Well it warped the thin wood liner under the drawer. @James Conrad and @verybrad I need your help. What can I do to correct the warping? IMG_1712.jpg

You mean the "dust board" not the drawer bottom itself?

LOL @ dryer on the fritz! Well, unless it's rubbing drawer i would LEAVE IT BE. It might go back on it's own accord.

Yeah, good idea and goes without saying, water & wood don't work well together!:hilarious:

I don't know what I was thinking. I love my bed and dresser and wouldn't harm them for the world. Water bad. Listen to James.

Wait for Brad, he may have some ideas on repair of warping.

Will do. Right now I've taken the drawers out to let it dry.

Don't think there is much you can do other than wait for it to dry. Hard to tell what is going on from the pic provided. If bowing up, you might try putting some weight on it as it dries. Otherwise, if the warping doesn't affect drawer operation, it is not that big of a deal.

Thanks very much for weighing. It’s bowed up. I think I cut a piece of plywood to size and put bricks on top what do you think?

Turn it upside down and put a weight on the bowed side and allow to dry..

Thanks for chiming in Dave. It's not the drawer, but I applied the same principle you recommended to the bowed up side of the dust board.

Thank you all for all your advice. I really appreciate it. Hopefully it will go down. The warping impedes the operation of one of the top drawers.

That is what I meant, turn the whole unit up.

This thing is massive with a large mirror on top that probably hasn't been removed in a hundred years. I don't have your muscles. Unless you want to come across the pond and help :greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy:

    I'm not flying anywhere :D
Try a small bottle jack with a piece of flat thin wood on top and apply pressure.

I'll give that a try. I'll have to wait until my neighbor comes home. He has different tools

Talking of muscles, I've either torn or strained an abductor muscle in my right shoulder, tossed an 8 foot length of wood javelin style into the tip and got what felt like an electric shock along my upper arm.
I'm fine lifting heavy things all day but when I relax or sleep it feels like tooth ache in my shoulder, its waking me up.
My sons physio suggested a Thai massage
