    Hi everyone!

I hope you're all having a nice day, I'm having a wonderful one! I found something great (at least in my opinion) and I thought I would share with you. Today's find happens to be silver plate, but that doesn't stop it from being beautiful (or valuable). I stumbled upon a flatware box set, and upon closer inspection I could see a good number of the items were made by Christofle of Paris. I didn't need to look much more and grabbed them up. Upon closer inspection and a bit of research, there are two different patterns combined into basically a 12 person serving set. All of the items show a CC 84 mark, which according to 925-1000.com mean these were made between 1844-1862. They weren't exactly cheap, as I paid $150 for the set, but I don't mind the price at all for what I got. I cleaned up a few of the forks to show how they should eventually look after some careful cleaning.

PS: can anyone help me to identify the patterns? So far no luck on the names.

    Thank you Greg and KikoBlueEyes,

A few more mystery pieces that were in the box. No clue what these ones are; probably plated, but does anyone recognize any of the marks?

Thank you Bakersgma! The first two marks are on one spoon and the last three marks in the photos are on the second item. I believe the final mark in the photos is Christofle for items made in foreign countries??

The third mark picture - the one following the spoon that I guess goes with the CB marks? - is way too blurry to decipher. The one after that appears to say 20gr - which is the indicator of how much silver was used in the plating. I'll have to look at that last one again - it looks like a leopard with whiskers in between the numbers 3 and 5.

The blurry picture goes with the leopard with whiskers and the 20gr. It appears to say 80 with a wreath around it. I'm fairly certain the second one is going to be Christofle becuase of the leopard with whiskers, but it was odd to see both the 20gr mark on the front and the 80 mark on the front.

I would be interested in seeing a source for that part about being a Christofle mark for pieces made in foreign countries.

Is the picture blurry because the mark is blurry or smudged - or because your hands moved while taking the picture?

Honestly amazing research, that is definitely it! All of the knives I got today appear to be the CTF35 variety.

Okay - so we have the letters OE with a wreath. Right shape for a maker's mark of silverplate in France.

I could not find a match for that mark in my admittedly limited sources for French silver plate makers, Nate. Tried to see if there was an OE maker of solid silver items that would make sense, but unfortunately not.
