Featured Chinese ivory carving

Hi from Barcelona city!!!,
Some months ago I bought this figure, and I would like an opinion on this statue carved on ivory and painted. I have been looking for a similar carved figure, but I don't found nothing. It seems Chinese, but I'm not sure.
I would like to know the age of it?

I see what look like schreger lines..but am not familiar with ivory being so painted.

It is a gorgeous little figurine, Jal.
I see ivory-like lines in this part:


My guess is a 19th century carving of a Tang dynasty musician on horseback. The style of the horse and the clothing are of the Tang period, the figurine is obviously not Tang, but is inspired by the period.

About the figure:
"The musician is playing a paixiao panpipe representing one member of a marching ensemble called guchuiyue ("drumming-and-blowing music"), which included panpipes, horns and drums."

Pleasure, Jal. It is a beautiful piece and probably pretty rare.

Yes, simply age-related wear of a kind of paint that wasn't so durable in those days. For collectors that is a good sign.

This looks like a arts and crafts piece, no particular value. "Fake ivory" I would say or maybe bone (the veins don't look like plastic or resin or some sort of synthetic plaster/material.)
The stamp on the bottom (it's not very clear, quite washed out, especially the second character, but,) looks like "hege" (合格) which goes for "qualified" or "up to standard" meaning that it passed quality control inspection and has no defects and can be packaged and sent to retailer shops.

Wouldn't this item have to have been handled quite a lot for this type of wear to the paint to the paint to occur.
To me the wear seems forced, & scuffed in a uni-directional way.

& the Schreger lines on the base seem to be going in more directions than they should.
