Featured Czech earrings and pin

Hi, any idea of age? it's either czech or czecho?

Really pretty, gosh I love Czech glass jewelry. Definitely older, 1920's-30's would be my guess. Stylistically I might think even a bit later than that, but not sure so much jewelry was coming out of Czechoslovakia during WWII.

now the backs of stones are painted gold, is that foiled backs?

 

Yes, that gold paint on the back of the rhinestones would have been original. I think that results in sort of a foiled look.

One site I saw says that the "Czecho" stamp dates things to the 1920's.

 

so this would be 1920s and earlier?

 

1920's and later.

 

I'd have guessed late 1940s, but they could be pre-War. The findings and stones might be pre-WWII and used later.

 

I think the gold on the back of the stone is a protective layer, protecting foil that is applied to the glass. Sometimes the protective layer is silver paint.
