Featured Chinese long orange glass beads

hi again

when i saw these advertised on the local auction page i presumed they were chinese carnelian beads

thought chinese because of the old string type used

turns out i think they are glass, because they have lots of tiny air bubbles

think i like them even more being glass, as ive never really come across an oldish chinese glass necklace before

they fluoresce crazy as well

very long length, doubling length

any thoughts or info appreciated

I can’t resist lovely glass beads and would have snapped them up in an instant.
I’ve got a few strings like that but I hadn’t considered them being Chinese.

 

yeah, don't quote me on that one, i might be wrong
but i do have a couple of chinese carnelian ones with the same type of stringidge

I'd have figured them for Czech, strung any old where. Beads travel and always did. Now what's in the glass to make them glow like that, I haven't the faintest.

aha. Been a while. I'd know it in clear orange glass, but not the opaque.
