My friend gave me this ring to see who might have made it. Red resin stone and glass diamond, 14k gold filled.
Any ideas on age maker etc. ?

    Thank You

Why would it say 14kf ? I believe it’s 14k gold filled. I never seen a ring like this with birds, must be a religious ring or wedding from India huh ?

    Looks Victorian to me.
Birds would not have been unusual.

    Looks plated.

In the U.S it would GF and a fraction. Is the ring solid or hollow, can you see any solder lines on the ring shank? I can only guess you haven't seen very many engraved signet rings, engravers will engrave almost anything a customer request.

Sorry! Apologies and all that ;)

Doubt a resin stone would be set in anything super old or precious.

There is nothing in the photos to suggest age, signet type rings have been around for hundreds of years.

Check to see if it is amber.
Rub it very fast on your blue jeans for maybe 15 seconds. Put to your face immediately. Amber will be hot. Plastic does not get hot.

Those birds are seen a lot on Aesthetic period jewellery, late 19th century. The Aesthetic style was influenced by Japanese art, you see those little birds on Japanese items as well. But this is definitely Western, so I'd say late 19th century.

I'm with cluttered, it looks plated. With loss of plating and brass showing through maybe? A bit of a clean could tell you more.

I agree it looks plated & it does not definitely look like an F to me; think Holly is right & it's a P. Doubt very much it is amber, but no harm in testing.

A well worn gold plated ring with artificial stones. We're not looking at an item of great value here.

The ring really needs to be acid tested and the stone in the middle as well. It does look like an old cut and possibly a paste stone, in my opinion.,
