    Sharona, are you sure the tray isn't "reverse painted"?

    Today was a Why Did I Bother day. Something has my tinnitus riled up, something else has my face riled up, and a church sale ... not so much. Nothing worth getting riled up over. Someone did find a bunch of ceramics, but those aren't my thing, and there wasn't anything worth the headaches. The best thing was a chunk of modern Indonesian batik. (sigh) Then I got to go to a friend's memorial service. (double sigh) And it rained all day, starting out with a little freezing rain, that made a friend of mom's fall and break a hip.(triple sigh)

    Did SOMEBODY find something good? Please?

    Just stopping in to see all the finds over the last week, SO many cool things!! cx love that oil lamp, nuff, very cool wood slab it looks like redwood burl? marko and sharrona, NICE jools! Evelyb i really like those "faux Plique a jour" pieces :)

    Nothing good to show, as pickins' have been slim, seems like I find tons of $20 items... I really am getting tired of not finding anything above that price range...saw a lovely Dedham rabbit casserole today 2$... big chip :(
    A sample of my recent finds..spent 8$...obviously the elf quilt kit and the Denby cup won't bring 20 bucks and sad, but the Cross Stitch will probably make the most for me..Some of the cross stitch stuff sells for good $

    Thanks guys and nice finds!

    Below are a few recent purchases for $22 (I do apologize about the poor quality images):

    Large 65 in. Chinese scroll, ink and color on paper laid down on silk. Not sure who the artist is as of yet, but I believe it dates to the first half of the 20th C. The image only shows part of the scroll.

    Next three items all date 19th/early-20th century..... Chinese Dehua Blanc-de-Chine figure of Guanyin, French Samson vase in the Chinese-style and a Japanese cloisonné dragon vase.

    Nuff, I can't believe you are close to my area! Those finds are great. I am kicking myself for passing up a garnet brooch yesterday, supposedly unmarked 10k, for $65. I wasn't crazy about it, got to a church sale late (as usual, I only get up early in peak season), it had flat wide garnets like I never have seen. The lady said it was Victorian, it did have the tube hinge closure, I turned around, it was GONE. I then researched it. Come to find out it was Georgian......even earlier. Oh well, the day was good, I did find some cool stuff for $1 to $8 a piece, will have to photograph it when the sun comes out.

    Thanks guys!

    @Marko, where are you located?

    I have no idea what these items are. Paid $2 for a small tin box full of what appears to be "ancient" items. The four below I pulled and thought were interesting.

    Thick pottery glazed shard, stone beads(?) or maybe small stone amulets(?) and a small carved rock/stone fragment of a woman's(?) head wearing a turban(?).... Thought that piece was the coolest.

    Sigh... I finally found this forum again. I have been 'organizing' all my hundreds of saved bookmarks and somehow either misplaced or deleted the one for this forum. It's been driving me bonkers! I've had finds to post (still do) and have missed reading regularly. The bookmark is safe and sound again. Oh my gosh... I just realized this thread alone is on page 159 now - that makes me smile ... lots of fun reading to do!

    I haven't had any good finds in forever, so I'm glad I finally have something to post here. I got these three brooches for about $17. Top one is 14k and the other two are gold filled.

    And I was excited to open an auction listing to find this kobe charm bracelet. Now I have to decide if it's better to sell the bracelet as a whole or the charms individually.
