Featured Simmons Dresser

    hello all!

    I recently purchased this dresser on a local Facebook buy sell trade site because my daughter liked it.

    It is a green metal with a Formica top. Five drawers and the top one is divided inside with a lock. I do not have the key but am sure I could get one made but she is 12 and doesn’t need that kind of privacy

    I didn’t put much thought into it until I got it into the house and saw the label inside.

    Can anyone give me any details about it? It is an amazing shape, no rust, just needs to be cleaned up. I do not want to refinish it if it’s potentially worth something.

    IIRC it's worth a few bucks. It's practical as all get-out into the bargain; I wouldn't mess with that either.

    I believe your dresser is by Norman Bel Geddes. Late 40s...

    A piece I have. YES, STILL HAVE :(

    Yeah, don't touch it - although they've been in high demand by people who like to strip them down to the bare metal, and those are pretty neat.

    Thank you all!

    My daughter has decided she likes the green so we will not be refinishing it.

    Sounds like I got quite the deal as I only paid $35 for it!
