Another my item from stash of inherited goodies. I love him, but don't need him. (Preparing to move, and trying to cover a few expenses as well... Sigh.)

He's not in the best shape - looks like someone tried to clean him improperly. The only thing I know about him is that he's been with us since at least the mid 1960's, per a family photo. Can't find anything online similar. (But all of the whizzes here probably can, as proved to me yesterday, lol!)

Am I delusional to try to sell him locally for $125USD? (Don't want to deal with the hassles of shipping.) I looked around, and didn't see that asking this sort of question was disallowed. Apologies if I'm a rule breaker! owl1.jpg owl3 base.jpg owl5 base.jpg owl4.jpg

It's not breaking any rules to ask for a value. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will know what you have and can give you an idea on what you can get for it.

    It's roughly 9" tall?

Is that stand original to the piece or did it sit on/in something else that got misplaced or broken?

The stand is a votive candle holder, lol! If it ever had a base, it is long gone. Yes, roughly 9" tall, including the stem. And thanks for making me feel safe asking!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

What is it? A vintage flask??

Doubtful it's a flask, as the inside is "silvered," a la "mercury glass." Likely used as a chterpiece in an arrangement, as there was oasis in the stem.

With an open base, it could be a Christmas tree topper.

That's what I was thinking. I've never seen an owl tree topper, but somewhere out there is a bird freak who'd love the idea.

Price him at 125$ and someone can offer you a hundred dollars. (take it!)

Owliza I really DO keep my tree up a bit too long...

As a Christmas and owl freak, I can confirm!
