Coral chain

    Hi all my dad gave me this coral necklace I was wondering does anyone know much about it's value it's definitely 100%Coral he brought it into a antique jewellers in London when in his brothers but never got a value thanks in advance

    Never seen a safety chain on a necklace before.

    The safety chain has been added. I've done that before now. 20s or 30s I'd think. If you want to wear it, get it restrung. Not massive value, maybe 50 euro?

    Thanks a million for that I've only worn it a few times it's a beautiful deep colour are tgey valuable? My dad said the price of coral has gone up

    Not as they once were, it's butterscotch amber that's now the thing. I'd see them at 50 euro maybe a little more in a shop.

    I'm going on comparables with UK prices, might be a bit more across the water - you're a smaller place. ;)

    I agree, you can see it around the bead holes and on some of the beads.
    Yes, value depends on the location. Dyed coral would cost much less here in the Netherlands. If the clasp is gold (of a good fineness) that would help.

    About UK versus Irish mountains, many Scottish mountains are higher than any Irish ones. So is mt Snowdon in Wales.
