    Hi All,
I have a few rings that I'm needing some help on.
    Any information appreciated.
    Thanks for looking

#1 I believe is for a male, 925 marked on the inside. What is the stone or maybe glass? I thought opalescent glass due to the fire you can see in it.

ring #2 marked sterling and 10K, also for a man. Signet ring? Is it possible to date it from the style?

ring #3 for a lady - marked Birmingham, 9C 375 J&WM. I found a James and William Marshall Edinburgh that looks to be the same mark but they were in business from 1817 until 1867, I don't think this ring is that old. Also they were in Scotland, not sure if they would be the same maker? DSCF3456.jpg yet. Would this be a pearl? no date letter no I'm unsure of age.

#1 may be a white moonstone and somewhat modern

#2 no way to date with out a maker's mark

#3 can't id the stone besides being white, age would depends if you can identify the maker's mark.

thanks Holly. I wouldn't have thought modern on the first one, but I've been wrong many times.

thanks Scoutshouse:) I'll have a look around at Jade, but maybe this is something I should take to a jeweller to look at, I'm not sure if I could tell Jade or not.

#1 being marked 925 if American probably wouldn't date before the 1980's,that's why a maker's mark can help although some companies have used the same mark for over 50 years.

Not sure I would call it a signet ring. Those usually were seals.

Rings with initials aren't as popular as they once were for men.
I would put a date period of 1930s-50s maybe 60s.

Not sure 10K is used as much in jewelry as it used to be. @Hollyblue might know

The underside of the signet ring appears to have a casting bubble, but the photo is too dark.If the ring was cast it would probably date no earlier than the 1950's.

I guess it is whatever term is used at the time and whatever the designer decides to call them https://www.davidyurman.com/products/mens/mens-rings/signet-rings.html

Then it depends on what someone is willing to pay for custom hand engraving for a signet ring with initials, etc. http://www.masterengraver.com/jewelry_engraving.shtml

10K jewelry is still everywhere https://www.google.com/search?q=10k...qe_fAhWH_p8KHaqTAcAQ_AUIDygC&biw=1554&bih=870

I don't think so. It looks pearlescent, but whether pearl or something else...?
    I agree.

It was fairly common practice for makers to have stuff assayed all over the place.

I had a silver piece with the mark of a Birmingham maker but the assay mark for Chester. Totally confused I asked on the silver board and that is what the told me :)

I think sometimes it was cost and sometimes simply convenience!
