Are these samples or actual porcelain items for a doll house or a little girls tea party?

The bowls are just 3.5 inches wide.

They really are meant for a child, to play with or to admire. A dinner set rather than a tea set imo.
I still have a child's porcelain dinner set that belonged to my great-grandmother, or maybe her mother. Unfortunately bits are broken, and possibly some missing, so it is likely to have been played with.

yup - for children - as my generation likes to say "we ate paste glue and crayons - played on lead paint - went to schools with asbestos and we're fine" -now a days all of this would be taboo but in victorian days and throughout the fist half of last century children played with glass pottery and porcelain objects - as well as sharp objects like toy tools made of metal - we stuck our heads through crib bars and we are fine LOL - for the record if trying to sell this set it is wise to list it as "miniature" that is the operative word for buyers...

I think I read somewhere that they used these sets to teach the proper use. Hopefully there was some fun too!

This is sort of OT but I sold a fire king jadite coffee cup many years ago As we all know, back then the size of coffee cups were not super sized like they are now. The measurements were in the listing.

The buyer got it and said it was way too small for her to use and she was going to let her child play with it. Give a child a glass coffee cup to play with?.. oy vey.

Those are lovely! I remember going to my grandmother's and the highlight of the trip was getting to play with the child's porcelain dinner set she had in her closet :)

What a lovely set. My dinner ware is Blue willow. I Have my Mother's play house outside my window. I stocked it with pattern glass ware for my Grandkids since they were two years old. The floor is wood and the old pattern glass punch cups were sturdy.
