    Hi,

The name of this type of jewelry COMPLETELY escapes me. Please remind me!

I was also wondering if anyone might know who made it?

Is the impressed star on the back the Makers Mark?

    It measures 3 3/4" long x 2 7/8" wide.

    Thank Much!

JMHO, I believe this is a piece made in the last 15 or so years made to look like an old style, but it is newish :(

It’s a pin, no special type, and unless someone knows if that star on the back is a maker’s mark, I am doubtful you will find a maker :(

I would maybe describe it as a swag chain brooch to describe the dangling multiple chains- I'm not sure if that's what you mean in terms of the type of pin?

Hey, I could very well be wrong in my thinking!!
I'm lucky to remember my name in the morning...and I'm NOT even particularly old!

Certainly would not call that piece steampunk...but to each his/her own!

They call it Victorian Art Deco, two completely different styles and eras. This is why I never recommend selling sites for research!

I thought we were looking for some unknown term for this pin. I figured some of these terms they used might ring a bell. But I guess not. :(

    You were a great help!
I was just commenting on the term that Seller had used, seemed all wrong for that piece.

Definitely Art Deco revival, worn at the throat or at the neckline of a dress, on the V part. I always heard them call dress brooches, or cleavage or decolletage brooches. The style of brooch is called lavalier.

I've seen these sold as a package with fairly recent blouses.

Yes, that is why it is a "revival' piece
