Doesn’t look particularly like turquoise or Native American despite being sold as such. Not mine and not my photos. Just curious to hear more about it from those who will likely know. Looks more European than anything to my eye. Could be European turquoise which I think I know to be more this shade unless it doesn’t even exist and then my memory is tricking me. Marked only “Sterling”. I wouldn’t bet the farm it’s not NA or turquoise, just my initial feeling. It is cool though and seems to be very nicely made. I like the mounts. Well I’ll be dammed! Glad I didn’t say I WOULD bet the farm it wasn’t NA. Guy wants $40 plus shipping so I’ll pass but good to put in the ol’ brain for later! Thanks

I would be interested; I just acquired a bracelet. Can you give me the link, if you don't want it.

The link komokwa posted, the ring was commercially made and not considered NA made.

Bell Trading is a Southwest shop that contracts NA artist to produce their jewelry under the trade name rather than under the artist’s name. Commercially produced by a NA artist, in this specific case a Navajo artist

Though, from a purist standpoint I agree with you. Bell Trading Post was targeting the tourist market in the same way Fred Harvey did earlier. Compared to true pawn jewelry….there is no comparison

There are many crossover styles between Navajo & Zuni and the petit point is one of them. The OP’s ring could just as easily be Navajo as it could be Zuni. Personally, I consider petit point to be of Zuni origin, but that’s just me.

It could have been made by different tribal members or Latino,Caucasian.Legally if it doesn't have a NA maker's mark it is SW and not NA.

    Noted

but there is a tremendous amount of true NA jewelry out there that is simply unsigned, the ring in the OP for a possible example

The original ring I posted does not have a bell trading post mark. Just a “sterling” mark. The way it’s marked looks more commercial than NA to me but I wouldn’t be surprised if some Native American makers used a similar one.

I just used the “start a conversation” option to send you the link. Hope it works and hope you get it if you decide you want it. FYI it was $45 not $40. My bad there I was just going by memory when I wrote $40.
