Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hope somebody will check in soon to reply. I especially like the first one!

Me too! They are way bigger than they look and are well done. Also I agree the guy is impressive.

Please tell us where you got them, and any background information you may have.

The style of the bearded head looks, to me, sort of Spanish or Portuguese colonial - a mixture of features as might be found in the Philippines, or colonial Africa. Perhaps it was the head of a religious figure, with the notch at the base somehow serving to fasten it to a separate body, or hold textile clothing.

The female bust seems to be a different style. Was there any indication that they have the same origin? Her features look rather Cambodian, but the headdress (hair?) is not a shape I am familiar with. Perhaps @Any Jewelry might recognize her.

    I got the same impression.
Agree. She looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place her culturally.
If Cambodian (not sure she is) our "former French Indochina" specialist @kyratango might have an idea.:)

Uh, though SHE could seem Asian, she doesn't ring any Cambodian or Indochina Ethnic minority bells to me:bucktooth:
HE could look somewhat Ethiopian or Semitic in features, and with his highly abundant face pilosity rather not an Asian man:playful:

I got them from offer up and the person got them from their father years ago but had no more information about them. It looks like the may have been painted at one time. 20221014_222940.jpg 20221014_223137.jpg

They aren't something I would buy (trying to be diplomatic:shame:). But if you like them enough to have them in your home, and the price is right for you, why not buy them.

To me he looks like a cross between Don Quixote and Socrates.;)
