Not at home right now, so can't run through any references at the moment - don't have any this early from Reed & Barton anyway, but doubt that it ever had a specific pattern name, would've been unlikely back then - the medallions were a decorative devise. As Fig suggests , the 'flowers' are palmate, part of a decorative Neo-Classical leaf-spray design - though medallion motifs were popular later too, this tray is very much circa 1860s, including the 1857 'wire reinforced' patent mark...

I realize I am late to this thread but I just today acquired a piece with this bearded Greek soldier medallion and would love any information you might have discovered since your original post. I am not a collector but I do teach Greek History and chose this piece because I liked the image.

Hola, tengo la misma bandeja. La heredé de mi abuela. Dice 1863. Pero el set de té, no sé si corresponde al mismo año... tengo esa duda

Thanks, @komokwa . I took Spanish for 4 years in junior high and high school. I can read most of the above without using an online translator, but can't discern what the question is, for certain.

I believe that the post says that the set was inherited from her grandmother and is supposedly from 1863. But something (tea set?) doesn't correspond to the same year. So probably, the question has to do with the date.

Thanks! I can't help with this, but I think we would need more pictures of the tea set items, with all marks. Some marks are shown. But I don't see any for Reed & Barton. I have not re-read this entire thread to figure out if it went off topic or not.

I forgot that I included Spanish as a language in the translators thread. ;)
From previous other topics I knew that Debora is proficient in Spanish. So took a chance that she would be willing to help!
