    Hi everyone,

I have this brooch that I picked up, and I'm having a hard time identifying the silver mark on it. It looks like a pentagram shield with a "3" inside of it.

With such a simple mark, it should be easy to find, but I'm not having any luck. Thanks for any help!

Edit: yikes, you can see every little imperfection with these pics. Please try to ignore that glob of glue that some heretic put on it...lol.

Thank you Bakersgma! I was looking in entirely the wrong place, thinking it was from Europe.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    it's a Cross pendant that some snickerdoodle turned into a brooch......right ?

Unless the maker cheaped out on the solder on the bail, and it broke off. The pinback could be a make-do. (and I happen to like snikerdoodles, just not when used in place of brains.)

Curious about the pin assembly. It is 'backwards', i.e., not convenient for a right handed wearer to pin on & have the cross be right way up. Is the opening in the clasp where the pin stem fits in on the top or the bottom? Do you roll the safety latch up or down to close it?

The opening is at the top and you roll the safety latch up.

I'm left handed. Maybe they made it with me in mind? LOL.

JMHO, but those 4 corner scrolls don’t look like filigree, just a design element.

Oh my gosh, you are right. My brain misfired there. Thanks.

I agree, looks like someone took a pendant, broke off the bail and made it a pin. Pin or pendant is is lovely :)

Since the pin assembly was a pre-made unit, it was attached upside down, through inattention or to accommodate the left handed. It doesn't look like it would swivel, does it? As you're a lefty, that works out well. :)

No, it doesn't swivel. Thank you for pointing that out though. I'm so used to things being placed to accommodate right handed people that I hadn't even noticed it being backwards.

Me either. I'm used to working upside-down.
