Thanks. I checked the caps, lots of Poland, 3 Japan and an Colombia. Would I be better posting in a more specific forum? I am going to put up better pictures grouped by cap markings.

Yes. You could start a new thread in the Pottery Glass and Porcelain Forum with Vintage Christmas Tree Decorations in the title.

Nice lot for only $7.00. Agree that the one is 50s. Most likely European in origin with that cap, if original to the ornament. Not terribly rare but nicer than a plain round one. The other 2 are definitely quite a bit later, though I've not seen them before.

Geez, my Christmas ornaments are mainly from the 80s, but might be Polish. I bought them at K-Mart! :D

I've met people for whom Kmart and Caldor are a Nostalgia thing. The "junk" they sold in the 70s and 80s from Japan and Taiwan was better quality than most of what I see now .... go figure.

I had similar ones I bought 30 years ago at my flea market, 50 cents a box, boxes marked Made in Poland. Now I have a modern 5' aluminum tree, fiber optic element broke, we have colored lights on it and it came with ornaments. I was always fascinated with my grandmother's aluminum tree and color wheel....someday I hope to find a vintage aluminum tree. Another thing that fascinated me were the vintage bubble lights-I think they make modern versions now.

Yeah, not a fan of them in NA jewelry either, but the color is awesome, and for a fiver....

For that price! Those synthetic black (i.e. blue) opals are gorgeous.

Well, went to a local gem/rock club gem show. I didn't want to spend money, but I know this would haunt me forever if I didn't buy it. Crabtree snow emerald wrapped in sterling from NC. Never heard of the mine or this type of stone. 20220917_155149.jpg

Wire wrapping is becoming quite the art, now. It really suits polished and cabbed stones. I would try it, but I need another craft like a hole in my head. I do like your stone!

Thank you. I have arthritis and other hand issues, so while I would love to learn it, I don't think I could do it. The gentleman had some gorgeous pieces...I learned about Victoria stone today, too.

Another beautiful piece featured this stone I never heard of, either

We visited the Crabtree mine years ago and have a few pieces of emerald in matrix. Victoria was popular at one time with a lot of misleading stories about what it was. Two stones I cut and have a little rough someplace.

Beautiful! Reading about it, it was available and inexpensive back in the day, but now commanding high prices. This guy had large and medium sized pieces. He had an amazing large blue piece wire wrapped in GF.

Hi I am wondering how you know what to sell your jewelry for. I was thinking since you buy you might also know how much to sell it for. I have sold many things and am about to start up again. I just never sold the costume jewelry.

Check sold prices on ebay. I don't sell mine....for now, I am a collector.

I'm a soon to be former eBay dealer. To sell locally, check sold prices not current listings, and price at half or under. Preferably under. Resellers have to triple up or better for resale online due to fees etc. If they're selling from a booth they can pay a little more. People buying for themselves won't pay high at a tag sale or estate sale either. (it doesn't matter if "it's worth $100". It'll sell for $25 if that's all the audience thinks it's worth.) If you're selling it online yourself, price where you can afford to pay all the fees and taxes, and still make a decent wage for the work involved. If the Sold prices don't justify your estimated sale price, don't sell it on eBay.

Another rule is: don't sell anything on eBay you can't afford to give away. Between the scammers and the USPS you may end up out both money and item. That's not fair, but it's how things are.
