First off, what should I call this exactly. Is there a more specific descriptor than just "pitcher"?

10" tall, and there are markings on what I'm guessing is silver. The marks appear on the base as well as inside the lid.

Massive polishing needed, but we all know how much I like to polish! :dead:

    Top reads: 3/X. 1907:

Do you think this was the former owner's name or could it mean something else
    ?

Haven't really researched the marks because not sure if this is an FH, FN, or FM:

The above marks appear on the outside base of the silver section and also inside the lid. Here is another picture of the mark with the head from the non-polished section.

I'm terrible at sterling marks. Does this right facing head mean sterling?

I'm not thinking huge value for this piece, but wanted to do some research before I try to get $20 for it at my garage sale. Can always list on Ebay if it would be worth it, no ivory handle issues, lol. Thanks!

That 3/X 1907 is strange and probably relates to a restaurant (the name on top.)

Or an event. This may have been Souvenir of Whatever.

    Thank you!! :)

I didn't find the exact match, but two close ones indicated 800 silver.

I was wondering if this was some restaurant item... could be a specific event, too. Thanks.

The Diana-head in quatrefoil indicates .800 (3rd standard), the 'A' on the right indicates assay in Vienna, the '3./X. 1907' commemorates something on the 3rd of October, 1907 - what is that on the top, maybe 'Torio'? Believe it unlikely that it had anything to do with commercial use - hotelware is typically silverplate not just because of cost and theft, but solid silver is not as sturdy as the silverplate base metal...

Tosio which is a surname? Think it could be a wedding present?

My European eyes read Jozio, which is a form of Joseph, and used in parts of Central Europe.
