    Matrix is good if you like matrix. If you're a Persian Victorian turquoise jewelry purist, gold only, it's bad. If you're primarily into things that look cool, it's good. Native American? It's not just good, it's expected.

    Just for some clarity, I was given a new white gold filled Gruen on my 16th birthday in 1974 (lost at a club a couple of years later) - the link below gives their history, and at the bottom, mentions modern use of old respected watch company names:

    Thankyou. That’s interesting about the names being reused. Mine isn’t named at all but it’s definitely modern and explains the Gruen one Laura found.
