Hi guys... This will be my first post here.

Over the past month I've been determined to find out the maker of these. I recently bought 32 crystal set that includes 4 different sizes. No signature or mark.

The original owners told me they had to be "at least 80 years old". It includes water, wine, champagne, and the smallest is for sherry.

I found the design on Replacement LTD, and it's listed as "unknown"

Some people guessed Fostoria, Libbey Rock Sharpe.

A curator at Replacements LTD said about your 1024 listing...

"I see, However, the Bowl shape is different. Sim. But different"

Still I would say, it looks very close something out of Libbey.

which is why I mentioned the 'stem' was a match; it was standard practice to use one stem design with various bowl shapes as well as variations in decor...

this image from "R" is a drawing of the cutting, which may help in understanding your decor:

"R" is a bit inconsistent in their naming/numbering conventions; sometimes they use decor names to ID a pattern, and sometimes they use stem numbers, and sometimes they make stuff up...

So would these have been a higher end crystalware set, or would these have been marketed towards middle class Americans in the 1940s?

Was Libbey known for their quality? I notice a few listings online for Rock Sharpe, and they are not particularly valuable. Still my example is neat.

yes, Libbey was known for quality glass and well as restaurant ware. This would have been considered relatively high end at the time. The prices for today can be all over the spectrum, depending on area and multiple other variables. "R" has single goblets by Rock Sharpe starting at $70.

Does my example look like cut glass or pressed?

If it's at least 80 years old like the owners said from the original family.

They believe late 1930s around when they got married.

cut and polished, and looks appropriate for late 1930s to early 1940s. Not a lot of info on Rock Sharpe and old Libbey catalogs not currently available online. You might see if you can locate a copy of A Collection of American Crystal: A Stemware Identification Guide for Glastonbury / Lotus, Libbey / Rock Sharpe and Hawkes by Bob Page & Dale Frederiksen, and see if there is info there.

I just bought his Crystal Stemware Identification Guide. Now that I've narrowed down my search, I should definitely purchase that. Thanks.

another reference is Concetta Emanuele's book STEMS. Consider the separate parts (stem design, bowl shape, foot and decoration/cutting) in your search. Yours looks to be Libbey stem #1024, and the bowl shape may match that of Sharpe 'Mystic' or possibly Libbey 'Garland' or 'Kenmore'; the name for the cutting remains a mystery.
