    Hello

This is something that used to be my nans she always used to tell me the stones were real and that it was solid gold , one of the stones fell out and look like glass to me but does the cross look gold plated? no markings on it at all , the whole lot weighs 13.05 grams , 5p next to it to show size ...just cheap tat?

The way the stones are chipped is the way both garnets and glass can chip. The only way to tell is to have the stones and the gold tested. You can take it to a (reliable) jeweller to have it tested.

Some stones have the same way of chipping.:)
Mind you, some gold jewellery is mounted with glass, especially older jewellery.

Those stones are "foiled", i.e. have gold paint on the back. I've never seen that done to a real stone, and the metal looks costume.
