chinese & japanese vases

    hi folks

    the 1st one i found this week (think chinese) no marks, seen these types with a crackle finish, but this one hasnt, has got a brown glaze

    second one ive had for a while, but have never been able to find a similar mark

    any info on either would be a great help

    any thoughts appreciated

    The second one is Japanese. The three characters starting at about 4 o'clock and running clockwise appears to say Dai Nippon and the maker's name ends with the character for "made." No idea about the 3 red characters. That does not mean that it was made in the early "Nippon" period. One of our Japanese/Chinese readers will be along eventually.

    The first bottle of bottle is in the 19th century Chinese production, is the end of the qing dynasty, the second is the Japanese bottles. Hope I can help you.
