Featured Thoughts on age of Lapis brooch please

    The only mark is 925 on the back, which doesn't help much really.

    Hinge is 1930s into 40s ish.

    My suggestion would be polish that back!! I think there's writing under that darkest LEFT side that I cannot bring out, I tried, but I'm not thinking it's English!! (AND maybe I'm wrong!!!) A BEAUTIFUL PIN!!!! LOVE IT!!!!:happy::happy:

    Beautiful lapis lazuli with pyrite inclusions like a night sky.
    With that elegantly graduated granulation it looks Indonesian to me, somewhere in the cultural threesome Java-Madura-Bali.
    Because of the use of 925 silver probably post-1970, in spite of the hinge.

    Looks newish to me; in the 30s they'd have used different lapis, and the style of the front is more recent too.
