2 scalloped sided lime green glasses made in Japan

I have 2 scalloped sided lime green glasses made in Japan. The dimensions are about 3" top dia. x 3 1/2" tall. I do not expect anyone to know the company or the pattern because these are made in Japan and I would be surprised if anyone knew that information. I would like to request some help in how to go about describing them and are these glasses or cups? Thank you. Rob

Definitely pottery and yes, we call them coffee mugs

 

How do you tell that it is pottery rather than ceramic? Rob

 

Pottery and ceramic are basically the same thing. Made from clay. Ceramic includes any kind of thing made from clay including bone china and porcelain, pottery is more often used to mean something made from clay without additives.

If that makes sense.

Mid-century, mid-century modern, MCM, lobed, stackable mugs, Pottery mugs, Made in Japan, MIJ, marked Japan, matte glaze, satin glaze, pale green, celadon green, pale jade green, mint green.

This one came up in the Brave search engine with keywords mid-century Japan Celadon stackable mugs. From 2015. Definitely not Art Deco, though it came up in my search.
