Trunk sale it is! Took some photos today of some bits from the last week or so, but haven't uploaded them.

Can you do shows where you are? Set up at fairs, churches, parks, craft shows, etc.?

I recently bought a large bag full of bangles and these were amongst them. I am at a loss to know what to call them. They seem to be glass (the red ones definitely are) some with what appears to be enamel overlay - they clink together beautifully! They seem Indian or Asian to me but I have searched online & can't find any similar. They are small - I can't get them over my hand (fairly normal size female hand by the way!). Would anyone here be able to shed any light please? 20220711_153754.jpg 20220711_153706.jpg 20220711_153642.jpg 20220711_153624.jpg 20220711_153514.jpg

I live in Manhattan & do not have a car, so this limits my options. But thanks for reminding me that there is a flea market run by one of the public schools where you can take a space inside in the cafeteria & use those table, instead of outside, where you have to provide all your own, as well as find on street parking. It's not in my neighborhood, but not too hard to get to from here. Something worth looking into.

Other matters are that I'm not set up with a resale certificate, which may be required & would have to do something about being able to take credit cards. Did once get set up with PayPal to do this with a laptop, but it was a pain in the backside. Just got my first smart phone a week ago, so maybe I could join the modern world of CC processing. Afraid I like buying way more than I like selling.

I totally understand the like buying better part....it's hard for me to part with my treasures, too. I would look for small venues like what you mentioned- nothing needed. Do you sell on FB marketplace or in any of their jewelry clubs? You can also notify the public through FB of where you will be set up, like on yard sale sites. Even with pics- yardsales.net, one place.

FB is another modern invention I have evaded. Looked into it once & felt they wanted more info about me than I was willing to give them. Are transactions there entirely faith based, i.e., no protections provided for buyers or sellers?

It was a very slow day yesterday at our local flea market, but I had a great time. A friend brought me a heavy bag of jewelry to look through and I had a ball! I sorted through everything, gave her back 90% of it for another dealer to look through, and this is what I came away with...

    1st row, costume pins.
2nd row, possible Native American sterling malachite cuff bracelet, I need to start a thread on this in the jewelry forum. Next to that a GF lover's knot with an opal in the center, a garnet pin, gold filled bar pin with a tiger's eye cameo and a little costume round pin.
3rd row, silver pin with purple glass stones, Jewel Art sterling leaf pin and an 18k pin/pendant with semiprecious stones by modernist Oswaldo Guayasamin (this is a real find!).
4th row, silver enamel leaf pin by Danish silversmith Brdr. Bjorklund, Mexican pin with green enamel, Mackintosh silver pin, silver and marcasite bar pin.

1st row, jade and carnelian bead 14k bracelet (one bead replaced with a dark gren glass bead :(), jadeite jade disc and 14k necklace, old coin framed in 14k on a 14k chain.
2nd row, Victorian GF bypass bracelet with an etched onyx panel, orange jade goldtone metal hinged bangle, Lea Stein geometric pin, Lea Stein parrot pin.
3rd row, silver ring with a variety of stones, silver marcasite ring with a green stone (need to research the stone) and silver earrings with inlay turquoise (I think) and lapis.

I have not sold on FB, not selling until retirement, but I have purchased vintage Barbie dolls and outfits with Venmo and PayPal. One transaction was quite large, and I went with previous sales records and trust by paying as family and friends to avoid fees. I also bought dolls locally on FB marketplace and met sellers in public places.

I've sold on Facebook, but mostly on special interest groups, where you sort of know the people. I've also bought there, Paypal.
