My Golden Goddess: is She Deco or Nouveaux? How Old?

She's 4⅝" high, 2¾" from her knees to the tip of her toes; she weighs ~11.4 oz. She may be hollow, and has possibly been repainted/refinished. I got her in 1985 or so, and gave more than I really could afford at the time...but on reflection I have no regrets. She's one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for lookin'!

PS: The blue stone is glass, and included just to highlight that unusual feature.

 

She is lovely.

What about that headband, with the ? (forehead fixture)...is that Egyptian Revival, or? Thanks!

 

I don't see anything Egyptian Revival about the headband. The front piece seems to be fleur de lys. But I could be wrong.

 

I just realized the one at the auction I linked is described as made in France. Obviously since yours is not on a base you know more than they did! Made in Germany!

There's no indication of mine having been attached or affixed to a base. Theirs must have been, or the origin would have been obvious. Huh!

 

Who is the goddess that ponders her orb? Her name is somewhere in one of the cameo jewelry threads. I can't remember her name!

It looks better than the other one, but it is very blue. Beautiful colour, but too overbearing in this case imo.

 

Agreed. I gotta find an undrilled 10mm pearl, or ivory bead. Oughta be a snap, don't you think? More at eleven.
