I bought this Japanese (Arita?) or Chinese plate a while ago at a charity shop and have been told that it's not old. I wonder if any of you can confirm or deny. It appears old, but may have been deliberately aged. It has a 6 character mark, and is covered in what I think are stylised lotus flowers and pods. It is 25.5cm across.
As always, thanks in advance for your comments.

The first 2 characters on the right column (at the top) say Dai Nippon. So yes it is Japanese but may be a repop of an older item or at least older mark. Perhaps another member can decipher the rest of the mark or tell you more about the age.

It looks like the Chenghua mark. Arita imitating Chinese. Late 18th to early 19th Century. I have a large platter with that mark. I'll see if I can find it. Gotheborg has a couple examples of the mark.

Thanks so much Bakersgma - I originally thought it was Japanese, but after googling lotus pods/flowers I thought maybe Chinese.

Thanks Mikey - I'll check Gotheborg out, I may have looked there, but I hadn't been able to find similar marks.

It's the Chinese Wanli reign mark, but the item is a much more recent reproduction, probably late 19th or early 20th century. There are some Japanese pieces with Wanli marks, but I don't recall them looking like this.

It's Chinese. It says Da Ming Jiajing Nian Zhu--I think. See Gotheborg.
