Any thoughts on age of this please? Charity shop find. The only marking I can find is Sterling on the clasp. Thank you :) thumbnail_IMG_20220606_125313.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20220606_125415.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20220606_125347.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20220606_125400.jpg

Gorgeous, and I have the same one, minus the sterling mark. The clasp is a replacement.
The necklace is from one of the German Wadden Sea islands, probably Föhr.
My age guesstimate is early to mid-20th century.

The Wadden Sea is a strip of sea/tidal water along the north coast of The Netherlands, northwest Germany, and the southwestern coast of Denmark. It is an interesting natural and cultural area, shielded by small islands.
Föhr is very close to Denmark.

I love German Frisian filigree, it is always so detailed.
Yes, it is. I think mine is .800, but it could be .835 too.

This is a giant button from the same region. Women would have a row of these on their jacket. (not mine):

Jeez I haven’t seen an even remotely interesting piece of jewelry in a thrift store in a long time. Granted I don’t go often anymore but both the jewelry cases and regular shelves are barren of anything that has even a smidge of quality too it when I go lately. I mean nothing. The stores are packed to the gills with folks looking to resell. I think in my heavily populated area nearly everyone and half their uncles became a “vintage seller” during Covid or something. Even the stores that I used to be bake to find one good thing at are devoid of them now. I think my standards have risen but also the competition was multiplied in spades. Edit: my way of saying nice find!!!!
