Thank you so much! It's so tactile! Even covered in crap when I found it, it still looked like something ( it took a shocking amount of time for me to realise it was in fact,a pencil and not a pen :O though xx)

I found Bambi under a load of stuff in one of the bedrooms of the latest clearance.

Did not see it on the initial search.

Its from a carousel ride, I think it looks evil or alien like.

Buzz was non too impressed either.:D

OMG - that is awesome. Is it the kind where it has a really thick spring up its belly? Perfect for your granddaughter right now.

It smells like plastic and funny paint, not dinner or a potential threat. He might sit on it and accidentally smash it to death, but that's about all.

20220507_183654.jpg Terrible rainy and windy weather here, my semi-annual flea market I love was canceled, so I went to one thrift and an antique mall. Not much at the thrift, and the owner of the antique mall is quite greedy. I found a few trinkets, no great shakes, but things he missed. As I was getting ready to leave, I spied a ring I liked and a cameo missing part of the pin back. I asked to see both, and no prices. And they were the owners. He tested the ring for sterling, and the cameo was GF. He quoted me $95 on the ring, $89 on the cameo. I said I would pass on the cameo but take the ring. I was waiting to checkout, and one of the other dealers asked to see the ring. She said it was really nice, and I said I liked dragons. I get to the register and the owner picks it up and looks it over again and says "That's $125." I said he quoted me $95, and he said no, he said the cameo was $95 but lowered that to $89. Such a liar. I thanked him and said I would pass on the ring. Grrrr. As I sat in my car, I googled sterling dragon rings and found none like it. I gritted my teeth, went back in, and told him I called my husband and said he would buy it for my birthday. He refused to give me a cash discount, so I used a credit card just to whack him fees. Yeah, I should have passed, but I would've regretted leaving the ring there.

The dealer helped me by opening other cases and by taking my things to the register- they don't let you carry them around. She started by talking about all the great things I found and said "What did you find now?" when she saw me in line again. I had checked out once and decided to walk around again. She was just being friendly, and quite frankly, the owner surprised me. Probably irritated the owner, I wasn't showing it off. Yeah, it's okay. I will get the owner. Bwahaha. He still is mad about the 18k sea peal earrings I bought for $6 awhile back.

A friend of mine told me the last time he was in there, a lady had a bracelet she was buying and he louped it (he louped one of my things today) and told her he wasn't selling it to her for the price on the bracelet because it was sterling and a mistake (not even his merchandise- he probably wanted it for the wrong price ) He knows not to do this to me.

    What a jerk.
At least you don't have to cheat and lie to get one over on him!:D

I'd have turned around and walked out. I don't play games. Someone tried jacking the price up on me once, by a lot. My response? Loudly "No. Way. In He**." Only I didn't use asterisks. You had it priced and out for sale in a case. Once you do that it's game over.

I did something similar lately. I went into a jewelry store to get confirmation on my opinion of a ring, get some replacement earring hooks, and silver cleaner. 90% of what was in the shop appealed to me not at all (mostly diamonds for the painfully status conscious), but they had a little section of estate jewelry with a big 60% off sign.

Well, of course I had to look. I ended up buying two things, a pin/pendant that will go beautifully with a pair of earrings I’m very fond of, and a belt buckle that will look terrific on a hat band. Or maybe a choker, I haven’t decided. I just like it. Anyway, I paid I think about $40 for both, which was definitely more than the value of the silver (which is what she said she was charging) but I couldn’t leave them there to languish.

Turned out I didn’t do so badly.

But your ring is utterly fabulous, and I doubt you will find it’s like anytime soon… and if you do, it will probably be even more expensive!

I thought that's whose it was. They don't sell for that in the real world, but you still got one up on the dealer who probably didn't know the mark.

Beautiful, and you got a very good price on the Carolyn Pollack. I don't mind the price, if it was originally $125, I would have bought it, I just don't like dishonesty. This guy had two diamond rings on one finger, another on his pinky, he has soooo much...and he got mad because I found a pair of turquoise and sterling earrings for $8, a nice pair of costume earrings for $5, bought a pair of GF tourmaline earrings for $21 (he had to loupe those), and a pair of sterling and chyroprase earrings for $6. My friend says he takes Wednesdays off, so that's when I will go back during the summer. But not for awhile. :)
