Hi again. I bought this chair today for what I thought was a bargain price.

Is it Mission and is it period? Any idea as to who possibly made it?

It's 42" high at the back, and 27.5" at the widest at the arms. I am in Oregon, US.

(The last pic is just for fun-- I did in fact bicycle it home from the shop. )

    Thanks!

Its Mission style, but lots of manufacturers made that style in its heyday. If it were a "name" i'd think it would be marked somewhere. Its beautiful, and will last forever nonetheless.

I've seen them called Nursing chairs...for mothers with nursing infants or children. Very nice find!

@wlwhittier I don't know where you saw this kind of chair called a "Nursing chair" but I doubt it.

It is mission and period. Appears to be better made than most. The top detail is a bit unusual so you might be able to track this down. Look it over carefully for a mark. Sometimes burned-in marks can be rather faint and in odd spots. Limbert usually put theirs under the arm. G. Stickley, inside the back seat rail. L. & J. G. Stickley put theirs on the outside of the back seat rail. May have had a paper label or decal that is now long gone.

Looks very Limbert-y to me, though a quick search in my catalogues came out negative (not that it isn't or isn't by some Stickley brother or other). Very nice chair and very good eye and resourceful of you to carry it home Beverlyhillbillies's style like that.

I have done some searching as well but have not found this. West coast makers are not as well documented so this could be made more local to you.

Thank you for looking @verybrad. I have looked all over for a name or detail and have turned up nothing. So I'll leave it as is. I really appreciate your taking the time!

It’s beautiful. A similar chair was one of the first things put in the moving pod!
