Best Buy from Charity shop for £1 was the silver and lavender jade bracelet. The silver peking glass ring was £2.95 as was the other mop and labradorite. The seahorse marcasite brooch was the most expensive at £3.95 and doesn’t have any silver marks so maybe not. The black glass necklace was £1.

Found these 2 very crude and simply done wood carvings today. I usually only see African stuff. So these are cool to me. Are these Mexican? Tallest one is 21cm.

How big is the ostrich? I bought a group of these at the auction a while back & finally got around to getting some of them listed. They had been purchased at the Cracker Barrel gift shop area.

Found this today in a store that "checks things". They didn't check these! $3/stem and I got four of the water goblets. Replacements charges double if not more the proper retail but even so I am NOT complaining.

 

That is a whole lot bigger than the ones I have listed.

Got up at Yougottabekiddingme o'clock for an estate sale. Spent $40. There was some surprise jewelry of no great greatness. Got my BiL and sister an oil and vinegar set - Deruta pottery. And then.... Georgian candlesticks. Thin brass of no crazy design, but they push the candle stumps out from the bottom. I've heard of them but never seen a pair here in the USA. Cost me $12. I'll have to get a photo.

 

Can't wait to see the photo! I never heard of those kind of candlesticks. No estate sales here yet.... waiting....since we had soooo many snow days this year, my district won't be done until June 24. Here I sit on an extended spring break I don't want...this Friday and all next week. Would rather be out in the summer hunting!

 

If I didn't watch David Harper on Youtube (he's a BBC Antiques presenter - a veteran of antique alley) I wouldn't have known what they were either. The whole sale was newer stuff, except a case of Hummels that were mercifully NFS - homeowner wanted those for no known reason.

There were three estate sales this weekend to choose from. The other two were highway driving at really early hours (not smart) and this one that didn't look great but I like the company. And I could get there without thinking too hard or scaring other drivers.

 

As requested. These turned up today. I saw a David Harper Youtube video on candlesticks and commented that I'd never seen a pair of these in America. Well lo and behold I went to an estate/moving sale on Friday morning that was all 90s and later stuff and there they sat. The heavier modern India sticks were priced higher. The estate runners had NO clue. For USD$12 they came home with me. Unless I've been totally fooled these are 18th century British. The knob things underneath push the center bit up and the candle stub out.

The green is candle wax, not greenies.
