Featured Odd medical ? thingy or something else?

I know I’m going to regret this and the thread is likely to go the same way as the infamous Tokyo sewer pendant…..but….any ideas what this is?
It’s leather and brass. The leather part is hard and unsquishable although that may be the age of the leather. The nozzles are bone.
I know what I suspect but most of the examples of such items I see on the internet have a rubber bulb so who knows?

My great-grandmother used to have an old veterinary book with pictures and instructions for doing it on livestock, LOL. I used to peruse that book when I was a kid.
