    Hi all,
I forgot I had these, just found them looking for something else (ain't that the way):). Since they are from Ucluelet, I think I'm safe in saying they Nootka souvenir pieces. Not the big abalone shells, only 3 3/4"L. I don't think they are very old, maybe within the last 20 years? I've never seen items like these before, pretty cool looking to me.
in the link is one that also says Ucluelet, but it looks older to me:)
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)

AND looking at your measurement and the linked measurements, I thought they both were pretty close in size.....UNLESS of course I misread !!!

    thanks komokwa:)
anyone have thoughts on listing these - should I list both in one auction or 2 auctions? Not sure if maybe 2 auctions would be better/get more bids?

I don't think anyone needs more than one of these for their collection......list em separate..

if there were a different number of men in the canoe ... if they weren't the same.....then I'd list em both together....
some folks collect these by the number of paddlers..

I'm not sure about the not needing more than one....my wife is quite fond of these, and also likes ones that have interesting words. Sometimes one finds them over other types of shells, such as the large moon snail. My wife found one made over a very large barnacle, "Ucluelet, to Father."
