They appear to be middle eastern, somewhat old and originally gold plated. Wondered if they were silver or some kind of middle eastern white metal. Got some rubbed markings underneath I'm unfamiliar with. Can anybody give me some clues as to their origin and maker/metal etc??
N.B. these are all the photos I've got at the moment

    JMHO.
when you have it in hand you can certainly read the Latin font in the big stamp.
till then I suspect French industrial production that was exported to the Maghreb and the French colonies where the final chasing was done "for no money" by local people.
    I doubt they are silver.

I have a couple of teapots that are "Britannia metal" or Britannia ware, that do polish up to kinda look like silver....it's a specific type of pewter alloy....but I have to say yours look more silvery......so the answer is.....I dunno!!!!:rolleyes:

Britannia is an alloy like pewter - developed in Sheffield and used as both a primary metal or as a base for silver plating. Used a lot by James Dixon. I have a tea and coffee set made by him in the early 1840's, brought over by a 2nd great-grandfather.

Just checked the squiggle of the second one VS the catawiki page
"Ahmed El Houar" and it is a match. Suspect the other one is the same.
